The Taiwan Socks Museum can be found inside the historical Tongrenshe building, which is close to one hundred years old and is situated next to Shetou Train Station. This building is one of the few remaining from the Japanese colonial era in Shetou Township. The building was previously occupied by a train company, but after some thirty years of being vacant, the Changhua County Cultural Affairs Bureau performed building renovation, and the museum was established by the Changhua Shetou Hosiery Industry Development Association. The history of Taiwan’s hosiery development is preserved in this building, as the old machines tell the story of their part in Shetou’s sock industry development.
